I'm meeting a girl next week for biking. How can I minimize the possibility of her flaking?

Women flake, it's what they do by nature. The biggest advice I can give you is go Bike because YOU want to and make it seem like you're letting her go as a novelty, that way if she does decide to flake it takes away any a satisfaction/ control she'll get from it.

Email? There's not a whole lot to do other than call her up the old fashioned way and chit chat for a while. Or try texting every so often, just to say hey or something funny.

I'm always more vague on the meetup time the farther away it is (ie: cool lets go biking next week; i'm feeling a bike ride thursday eve, you in?, etc.). This is cause i'm legit busy and won't pin down an exact time and place weeks in advance for a chilling session. I guess it's 'abundance mentality' but it tends to work a lot better for everyone involved.

I wouldn't be surprised if she flakes personally. Girls are driven by pure feelings which is where they get their rationality from. Don't worry if she flakes or not because her flakyness depends on what chemicals are running in her mind and like 1.274835 X10⁹ other factures.

I would ask other girls out on dates and go do your own shit.

If she's an old crush and you guys have history, then you don't really need the momentum to keep things 'going' as you're leveraging off familiarity. IMO, best thing to do is demonstrate independance; for eg, keep texts simple, after no contact for a while, send her a message that reads something like "Heya, still keen for a ride?", and go from there.

And to minimise flaking, you got her to get invested, easiest thing is let her set the date of the ride. Once agreed, you could ask her to suggest somewhere to break for lunch or coffee, assuming she's familiar with the route.

Sorry to be a downer but... biking?

Biking is not really conducive to talking, connecting, and getting to know each other a bit better... unless you have a stop mid-way or at the end to go for coffee or a drink.

Tell her to let you know her days off as soon as she knows them, then you pick the day for the outing.
