Hey Seddit, I'm moving into a new apartment and buying all new stuff for my room. Any suggestions on things to buy that will impress the ladies?

A hookah. A fish tank. A really interesting coffee table. A Persian rug. Lots of books. A globe. Honestly if I had four grand to spend I'd hire an interior designer, as you'll get more mileage out of a comprehensive scheme than a few set pieces.

A good bed is the #! place to start. It's the #1 place a girl will look. At least 1k on a bed including the frame, because you should at least get a queen size. (i don't know how big your place is, but if you're willing to plop 4 grand on it, it can't be that small).

The bed also has to be positioned to be the centerpiece of the room, where both sides can get out comfortably. Don't be too much of a guy and push it all the way against the wall so there's basically only one entrance.

don't hang anything on the wall that isn't framed. That being said, you can frame almost anything and have it look classy. Pick stuff you like, blow it up at kinkos, and frame it. It will at least be a good conversation starter.

All in all, just make it look like you put some thought into it. Don't make it look like you mish mashed a few catalogues together. Stick with a color scheme on everything. The color of your walls may already dictate this. If you're going with a normal "modern" look, don't have one of those antique dressers.

But again, it's all about the bed. Keep in mind that latex/foam mattresses are really comfy, but if your aim is to have the sexy time, those mattresses don't really offer the.... springiness of a spring mattress. There are a lot of nice hybrids out there though.

If i were you, I'd just spend most of it on the bed (mattress, sheets, pillows, frame and all). It's a good idea to have a nice bed anyway, for normal sleepy time.

Digging around on the sidebar, I found this. Follow those guidelines for your bedroom. It's not peacocky type stuff so much as really good advice to follow when a girl sleeps over.

Good lighting, lookup on "indirect lighting"

Nice comfortable rug or carpet that make you want to take your shoes off, I have a black shag rug.

100% Egyptian Cotton sheets.

Women always 'borrow' my clothes and never return them. So I have a drawer full of comfortable clothes for women. Soffe shorts, long t-shirts, etc.

Nice sound system too.

I think some subtle stuff is some badass coffee table books. One of my favorites are the Dream Home book series. You can get one for the state you live in. Example here (Michigan)
