My friend has this condition and has gotten girls to take shots out of the "hole in his chest" on multiple occasions. Also, saying you have a hole where your heart should have been seems to work as well.

I have actually dated a lot of guys with this. And known a lot of people with it. I really think nothing of it. I like to rub my partner's chest when cuddling and it's not really any big whoop for me to feel a dip in their chest.

I have the opposite (pigeon chest) + scoliosis. Doesn't really bother me. I created some definition out of it by working out. Fuck the girls who wouldn't accept me because of my deformity. IDGAF about them.

Besides, some girl told me once that it adds to my character. I'm sticking with that.

There's nothing to deal with. Once a girl falls for you, we don't care about your perceived flaws. It's all in your own head. We love every inch of you, even if you don't. Just like vice versa. When has a girl you've ever dated said "ew i hate my thighs" and you actually agreed that you are also disgusted by them? Never. You love them and you want to bury your face between them.

I have mild pectus excavatum and as a kid I didn't ever realize that I was any different than anyone else and therefore it never bothered me. After realizing that I was different and finally figuring out the name of this (thanks google!) It still doesn't bother me too much. Sure, I would like to be "normal" but there is no way I would undergo surgery.

I have had people mention it before, but never offensively. I can take my shirt off without thinking twice at a water park etc. Really, my main insecurity is around family so I don't really take my shirt off. I have insecurities in general but they are here with or without P.E. Any improvement is merely a confidence boost, if my chest fills out better then great! but I have no problem really. Just reading the comments here made me feel better and smile about it.

I have this. Mine is fairly mild though, but definitely noticeable. No girl has ever pointed it out to me or said anything about it. I've pointed it out a few times, one girl seemed to like it and another didn't really understand what I was talking about.

It really doesn't matter AT ALL unless you make it matter. Even if you have a much more severe case, it's all in your head. No girl is going to get out of bed with you once they see this (if they do, then be glad).

At least for me, what helped as far as the self image aspect of it goes was lifting weights. I bench a lot and I've developed a lot of pectoral muscles. I think the pectus excavatum somehow accentuates my muscles and I look damn good.

I actually have that too. It is a very minor case though, nothing like that wikipedia picture. I'd estimate it is about an inch or two deep. It runs in my family on both sides. For some of my family members it went away naturally as they grew up, and for others they needed surgery to prevent it from crushing their lungs. My case is enough so that it is still clearly visible, and that I'm not going to grow out of it. But it has virtually no affect on me besides extremely slightly limiting my lung capacity. Though I don't notice the limit since I've lived with it all my life. So no surgery required here!

Now with regards to seduction. To be honest, I'm not too successful with the ladies (yet) but my plan would be not to tell anyone until I take my shirt off, then joke about it.

There are times that this has happened before in group settings, and it normally works well. The first time I did it in front of kids whom I wasn't good friends with was at a band rehearsal once, back in high school, I took my shirt off and everyone was asking "WHAT'S THAT?"

The friends whom already knew about it and I just joked about it. This has happened a few times since. Once I told people that I took a bullet (sometimes I add in that I jumped in front of a baby). Other times I'll just say "Oh man, you think this is bad? You should see the other guy." Typically I'll tell people after the joking is done that I was just born with it and that it doesn't affect me at all.

In a sexual setting I would imagine that if you are in your/the girl's bedroom and just took off your shirt, a slight chest indentation wouldn't matter much at that point. Just take a second to joke and fill their curiosity, then continue.

I had this same condition, when I was 15 I had it surgically corrected. I don't regret it. A few weeks of recovery some pain killers, and a wicked scar. I used to eat cereal out of it.

Huh, I didn't know there was a name for that. A guy I was dating over the summer had an acute version of that, just like a little dip between his ribs and I pointed it out and he said no one's ever noticed it before. I liked it though, it gave him this sexy curve in his chest and it was a nice little spot to nuzzle and run my hands over, and he was kinda flattered that I was paying attention to him to notice something like that.

Bottom line, don't worry about it. It's just another thing that makes you you. If she notices it at all, you can make a joke or play it off like, huh yeah I guess I have an indent there, no big deal, and just move the conversation along.

I have it too. It's not too intense, but enough of a case where I've seen a doctor for shortness of breath and chest pain, and surgery was mentioned. When I was younger, I had no clue it was abnormal. Friends have pointed it out, and it made me pretty insecure about it for awhile in college. I avoided pool parties and such. With women, however, when you lay your groundwork and you two get naked for the first time, she will notice it but won't care. Seriously. If you want to bring it up, bring it up, but not in a way that makes you seem insecure. Joke about it. If it feels like the elephant in the room (for me, it was just me blowing it out of proportion), bring it up, tell her it's the perfect place for her to sit, and be done with it.
