There are over 115,000 subscribers to this subreddit. Unless we are all complete idiots, I'd say something has to be working.

The thing about "seduction" is that, like any other skill, it takes time and a lot of effort to develop. You can learn all the material, canned lines and psychology you want, but if you don't put in the work to learn how to apply these skills in real life, it won't do you any good.

As for the community getting a bad rep, it's mostly a lack of understanding on what this sub stands for an believes in. Most of this subreddit (men and women) are here to learn how to better themselves and become more attractive to the opposite (or same I suppose) sex. They do this through a mix of what is referred to as "inner game" and "outer game" inner game being self improvement i.e (confidence, dressing better, working out, etc.) and outer game being skill based i.e (kino, openers, eye contact, push/pull etc.)

The side bar has a huge source of information for beginners to scour over before delving into the community as there are a lot of terms and abbreviations thrown around here that would confuse the casual reader.

Long story short, if you are serious about bettering yourself and becoming more attractive with the opposite sex, I would highly recommend this subreddit.

Other than misunderstood interpretations of negs and cherry-picked complaints of misogyny, I rarely see rational criticism of /r/seduction outside of this subreddit.

One common criticism is "creepy". One thing I've realized since coming here is how subjective that word is. Why does creepy even mean? A lot of people would say it's creepy to start grinding on chicks in the club. But it seems to work for some dudes, so that can't be objectively creepy. I recall seeing some girl in /r/AskWomen commenting about how her bf likes watching her over Skype. Not talking or anything; literally watching her as she does schoolwork or whatever. She got a significant amount of upvotes for that. I don't know about the rest of y'all, but that sounds ridiculously creepy to me.

I've seen some detractors talk about wanting long-term relationships and not wanting to have casual sex. First of all, not every dude in Seddit wants meaningless flings. And even if they did, no one's forcing you to sleep with a sedditor.

My biggest pet peeve is white knights. Because they exist both in and outside of Seddit. The sexist douches who say "most girls are looking for relationships." Guess what? I have a few female friends who are in non-exclusive relationships and, if the situation (logistics) were right, would have no problem with a casual hook-up. Even the mantra thrown around here ("leave them better off than you found them") sounds a bit white-knighty and condescending. It's not like we're punching women in the face and raping them. It's casual sex. They can take care of themselves.

Understand that the basic outline here is this.

If you go out once a week, and talk to girls using no lines or help, sooner or later it's going to pay off. This stuff exists to make the pay off more likely and happen more often.

It does work, try it once playing it 100% by the book (canned lines even) and you will see a different response from women.

Of course. That's all this subreddit really is. All the outer game and inner game is just a guideline that only helps if you take massive action.

Outsiders are haters cause they're pussies that want to protect their ego and don't want to believe that their life sucks because they suck, not because of external factors.

Everyone has to develop their own style. Some guys have perfected open aproach. Some guys do way better when drunk at a bar or parties. Some guys like me go all ryan gosling mode and give a girl something new. Its your duty as a man to craft his style and be the best he can be in life. You have to study. I like to think of this place as a vehicle of self improvement with its focus on attraction.

Inner game is the most important thing here and has genuinely changed my life for the better. Literally. I was able to overcome about 8 years of pretty severe depression by changing my view on myself and the world around me. Fucking great.

I like field reports the second best. Sure, people could be lying for the sake of a small amount of karma, but most of them outline an interaction, whether it went well or not, and something can be learned from it, whether it's frame, a quick joke, or a mistake that threw the whole thing away. Plus, they're a bit inspiring, it seems like 25-50% of them say something like, "Thanks, Seddit, x months ago I'd have just sat in the corner and pissed myself."

TL;DR: Inner game is the shit, field reports are fun.

Pickup is a tool and in the right hands it definitely works - as long as it's used correctly.

If I pick up a bag of hammers, collect some wood and nail it all together, I can build something beautiful. Alternatively, I can grab a ball pein and go all Peter Sutcliffe

Rehearsing lines that worked for others on seddit won't help you pick up girls. Understanding why they worked, applying that and building your inner game just might if you do it properly.
