Earplugs and shit tests

If its loud to the point that you need earplugs your not going to be doing much talking anyways. So you could always wear them on the dance floor/loud areas and them off in the quieter areas.

I work in video and do a lot of work shooting edm events which get really loud. A trick I learned from a DJ friend is to tear a bit off of a cotton ball and use that. It still allows you to hear everything but modulates the level down. You can even hear people talking just fine. You can barely see it at all if you put it in the right way. You can get the cotton squares used for makeup removal and it fits right in your wallet and just tear some off as needed.

I wear earplugs in loud clubs. I'm going deaf and I can't afford to lose the hearing I've got left. Earplugs are getting more common, and some venues actually give out free earplugs (the cheap foam kind that doesn't work very well).

I recommend Mack's Ear Plugs. They're soft and mold into your ear. If you're careful, you can use half an ear plug and push it in deep and it is really hard to tell you're wearing an ear plug at all. But you must clean your ear canal well before using them, they won't stick to your grimy ear wax.

An ear plug like this doesn't really affect how much you can hear, it just affects the intensity. So if you're in a club loud enough that she has to shout to be heard, the earplug won't block that. So it really shouldn't be a concern at all. I had some really good sets while wearing earplugs. I don't really do much club game lately as I am having some ear trouble that makes the sound levels painful even when I'm using earplugs.

I NEVER go out without ear plugs, for the reason you mentioned. It´s not a game killer at all. I am really tall so I have to lean down to hear a grl say something anyways. Don´t worry, you hear more than enough.

You might just have bumped into a bad chick. I am usually being called smart when they see them.

Solution with context below..

There is a dubstep artist who pumps incredibly loud music through speakers at his concerts and sells earphones because 'Bass isn't meant to be heard, rather felt." Now, if the concert is anything to do with drum & bass or dubstep or anything with a lot of bass, you could always use this excuse, and seem like you really care for the music at the same time. Double points.

Update: I went out again to a concert and a girl was like "take those out." I gave her an incredulous look and said "no." I followed up with "I'm a musician." A couple hours later she came back and tried to take one out of my ear. I pretended like I was going to bite her finger when it came close. She said she just wanted to hear with them and then took them out of my ears and put them in hers.

When handing them back, she accidentally dropped one on the nasty floor. I had a spare which I put in later but then that one fell out while I was making out with a girl on the dance floor.... FR coming soon.
