Hello guys, I will be going out every single day of this week as it is freshers for university (event where everyone from the university get together at clubs and just meet new people / get drunk of their faces).
Getting out of the taxi
We got out the taxi and my friends had to get money out of a cash machine. We see a shit ton a girls waiting and my natural friend (who knows my intentions) encourages me to mingle with everyone there. I start talking to a 3 set behind us (HB6, 6.5, 7) and since it was my first approach it was a bit awkward and it kind of went to interview mode a bit (asked general questions about where she's from, what course she is studying etc). I tried to use the "us mentality" when the HB7 told me about her traveling plans after graduating. I said to her "Alright here's whats gonna happen, we're gonna go travelling to Australia sometime in the future. Within the next let's say 7 years? And if we don't I will break down and cry". It didn't really go that well, I think she took it too seriously but oh well. Eventually my friends get cash out and ditch me as they see me talking to these girls. I was still talking to them and I was about to #close the HB7 but she was busy getting cash out so I went for the next best thing and asked for the HB6 so that I can meet them inside the venue. She gave me the excuse "I don't have my phone on me" and immedietely responded with "That's bullshit!" and then after her insisting that she hasn't I stood there for like 10 seconds waiting for the HB7 to finish before I thought "What the fuck am I doing waiting for a stupid number from a girl who I'm probably not going to respond" and said "I've gotta go now, so I'll see you if I see you" and ejected to find my friends. Was this a good call?
Standing in the ridiculously long queue to get in
In the queue, again I mingled with a few girls and also spoke to a few guys. Nothing much came out of it apart from small talk and asking for people's names. Until I saw this cute little Asian girl. I immedietely said "High five for being Asian" (I'm Asian too) and she responds well.
Learning from my previous mistake of going into interview mode I said "Let me guess what you are... Hmmm... Chinese?" (I originally wanted to say Korean but since theres more Chinese people in England compared to Korean it seemed more logical). We immedietely hit it off as soon as we both realise our parents were from Hong Kong and we even spoke a little Cantonese to each other for jokes.
I kept teasing her and making ironic jokes on how stereotypical she was for taking up Chinese language for her degree and the fact that her parents too worked in a chinese takeaway.
I eventually said to her "Here's whats gonna happen, you're pretty cool so give me your number so that I can find you later on in the club" Boom #closed, we exchanged a few texts while we got back to our friends. I'm hoping to arrange a date with her (that's if she responds to my text I sent, I seem to always have the girls who don't respond the next day). Might follow it up with a phone call next week after freshers since she is on the same campus as me.
Rest of the night went stale since it was so busy and loud
So the rest of a night was a bit of a bore, I'm still new and most of my game (if not all) requires good verbal communication. The dance floor was so busy that everyone was literally touching each other while dancing so I couldn't really do much. Even then I wouldn't know how to force and IOI and dance with a girl. But I think I randomly remember a part of the night where I asked one of my female friends if she would want me to kiss her (CRINGE) she declined... Never using that line again I swear... But luckily she's cool enough to act like it never happened.
TL;DR
You win some, you lose some. Some girls don't really get your humour and its good because you're filtering out the girls who aren't right for you. #Closed cute Asian chick. I need to work on my non-verbal game. Any tips?
