Its easy to become a self help junkie. You see this on seddit all the time now. A generic happy go lucky "10 Ways to Be More Confident" article gets 300 up votes every time. Stuff like that might be mildly helpful to somebody whose been living under a rock and has never heard of positive thoughts or better posture or smiling before, but it's common sense crap if you've spent more than a day here. The fact that these articles continue to get insanely upvoted tells me many people aren't taking action.

When it comes to seduction I do think it's important to read the sidebar if you're new (as with most subs) but once you have the basics down (the 80/20 rule which states 80% of your results come from 20% of the most important information) you have more than enough knowledge to get out there and slap life on the ass and fuck it.

Taking action isn't the safe fluffy thing that some want to hear. We'll think "a few more Mark Manson articles then I'll be ready!" when of course that doesn't happen. Even Mark Manson is very skeptical of the self help industry and says its only successful if a person leaves it behind. Thats where the "Do Something Principle" comes from. Just do something. Anything. Motion begets motion.

Self help books and articles can feel good. They feel like you're improving. You can jump from one to the next to get another fix even if you haven't left your house yet or applied anything in real life. At some point though you have to get out there and make something happen. No amount of reading can replace experience, and unless you act you will end up forgetting most of what you've read anyway.

So whether it's approaching or any other action you've been putting off. Go do it. Another article on AA saying the same shit isn't going to help you. There's nothing more you need to know damnit.

Let's all live life gents. Pour yourself a scotch and feel the burn.
