I'm sure he's already told her everything. But every girl I know swears up and down "that pick-up shit doesn't work on me!" And it almost always works.

Odds are that she'll think you were cool, and that her guy friend is a jealous asshole (let's face it, he's an orbiter, so yeah).

The way you phrased it sounded like a compliment. Why worry about it? take it at face value and continue as normal.

The whole point of 'pick up' is that people have studied natural interactions and reverse engineered them to find out why they work. You probably would've done something similar if you were naturally good at game

You might want to consider the possibility that the real player in this scenario was the girl. She may have been bored/disappointed because the guy she came with was not paying much attention to her, especially if he was wrapped up in the pool game and trying to impress his crew. So she took the opportunity to make him jealous by chatting with you. It worked - definitely got his attention. She may have given you her number just to show him that she has options if he doesn't start paying attention to her. Sounds like he got the message.

This is a pretty good example of why you should not bring a girl out with your boys for the night, unless you know everyone well enough to be comfortable with the dynamic.
