Stop talking to her as much. If you're the one initiating conversation with her and keeping her in your life just know that you are the cause of your own problem. This can easily be fixed by stop associating with her as much, you can still remain friends though but start talking to other girls immediately. If she is the one initiating conversation with you then reply politely as friends and keep it at that. Don't hang on each word that she says and if she wants to hang out with you interpret it as any invitation from a buddy of yours.

Just know that you and your mind is the cause of this problem. You can make a choice to let her go and move on at any point but it's all up to you and nothing anyone can write here can decide that for you.

Right, that "something" is the fact that she knows how to keep you chasing after her and propping up her ego for another 2 years. And you've spent 2 years proving to her that the strategy works.

If she basically your best friend? Awesome. Keep being basically her best friend, too. That's a pretty rad place to be in with a person you obviously care a lot about. But what else are you missing out on while you're so focused on this thing you can't have?

I'm not saying she's intentionally being a dick, but she's being a dick. Value your relationship with her for what it is, and move on. It's not going to be anything else.

Reject her now. She is manipulating you and using you. You shouldn't even be friends with her. For somebody to do that to another person is almost evil.

Delete her number, unfriend her from facebook, and don't contact her whatsoever. Clean your house, go to the gym, and basically make your life awesome. This woman is toxic - she knows you're interested and is basically stringing you along to use as an emotional tampon.

Oneitis is a symptom of the disease you have, not the root cause of it. You need to start doing things that you've long neglected. Find a sense of purpose. Find a joy in your life that is outside of women. Find a style that is distinctly yours. Find yourself.

No one here can help you with any of the above. Do that first, then come back. People can help you with the rest once you've gotten those figured out.
