Recently stumbled into a situation where my partner and I helped a classmate leave a domestic abuse situation and offered her a room in our home to stay for free.

I mentioned this to my (traditional/ RP) mom and she told me what a bad idea this was. Paraphrasing, she basically said that women will always want what you have, they will always be jealous of your stable, loving relationship. She mentioned this especially because classmate is coming from a dysfunctional relationship and into the vicinity of an incredible one. She will see how my partner treats me behind closed doors and she will want what I have.

This though truly never crossed my mind as my SO and I have been together for 7 years and have been in the honeymoon phase ever since, we are pretty obsessed with each-other and are each-others dream partner in terms of physical looks/body style and personality. So him “cheating” or being seduced was always a non-issue to me.

I have noticed classmate has posted things on FB like “looking for the man that wants to build together and become the power-couple” Or “Looking for the king to my queen”. These are quite disturbing for the following. All 3 of us were in a rigorous medical program together until classmate failed out. SO and I are know as the “medical power couple” in our class, its constantly mentioned lol. AND, my partners last name is King...so its just fishy now.

I guess I am more uneasy considering I am on vacation for the next 2 weeks and I can’t watch her for red flags. My partner is back home handling this situation, aka, getting her out of our home. Other issues precipitated this unrelated to my above concerns. (Not relevant, but I can share if anyone is curious)

I am also considering she may be suffering from mental health issues. She has skewed views of what its like to be loved. She is the type of girl that sees “minimal effort” (in my opinion) from her partners as grand gestures of love. For example she mentioned that her partner would text her “good morning” every day. When she said this she was expecting an “awww how sweet” from my partner and I and we we’re like 🧐🧐. This leads me to believe that my partners kindness can be easily confused as something more in her head. My partner is quite protective of women, which includes all my friends and sisters and it extended to classmate when she confided that she was being abused.

Anyways, just wondering what your RP thoughts are on this matter. I have decided to never allow another woman in my home in this way again. Mom is an incredibly charitable woman, we watched her take in many people in our lifetime, as well as give selflessly to others. She mentioned, “never stop giving to those in need, give them food to eat, a seat at your table, clothes or money, let people stay a few days to have a safe place to rest. But don’t just allow people into your life to sign the lease right along with you.” (Which is what we were initially going to do since we were all in school together)

Thoughts?
