I've hooked up with 3 roommates over the years and it has been a terrible idea 100% of the time. There was one when I thought it was going to be ok, and for months and months it was, but then it came back to bite me in the ass and fucked up one of the most important relationships of my life.

Hooking up with your roommate(s) is just a bad idea. If you're like me you're the type of guy who has to touch the stove to see if it's hot... hopefully this is one stove you wont have to...

I can't say this enough: DO NOT SLEEP WITH YOUR ROOMMATES!! Both my roommates mom and my dad told us this. You will avoid so much potential awkwardness. Even if you both are cool with a fwb relationship, one of you will fall for the other, it always happens.

Best thing to do: Become friends with her. She will bring her friends along (as long as you're upfront and ask if she has any cute single friends who want to come over whenever you're all planning to do something) and you can hook up with them, you''ll get laid more often, make great friends (don't treat em like trash, but always be upfront and communicate.)

Started sleeping with one of my roommates after platonically living together for 3 years. The sex was great. Like...Really great. Especially with sneaking around so our other roommate didn't know/hear. Made it lots of fun! We sexed for a few months... And then feelings came into play... And now we've been happily in love and dating for about a year. So I say... Go for it! Best decision I've ever made.

Don't sleep with your friend's exes.

One of my set of rules that I follow. I understand that it worked out for some people, but for me, I ain't touching that no more.

I've hooked up with two roommates, and both went ok. The first and I only hooked up once drunk camping, no resulting awkwardness. The next was ideal until I wanted to sleep with other people too. Lucky the lease was up a few weeks later and she moved to another state (unrelated).

not completely the same but I've banged the girl in the room next to mine ( sort of a dorm situation ). there are certain perks… for example I was able to pinpoint the moment to turn up the "heat" cause I knew she had broken up with her boyfriend. we don't live next to each other anymore however.

I'd say do it. especially if you're leaving. even if you weren't though, people should be able to be adults about shit.

I have hooked up with my roommate, we are now dating. It's been 2 years. I am finding myself wanting out of this, but to be honest I'd do it again IF I intended on dating her. We started off as FWB and she was cool with me bringing some home but that escalated into the relationship we're in now for various reasons. If you don't think the possibility of dating her is there, think hard on it my man...that may be the decision you're kicking yourself for when you call for a moving truck. Leaving in 2 months, you'll not only survive it will be a good couple months!

If you're gone in two months, I would go for it. Just wait a bit to avoid blowback in case something goes wrong in the rest of the time you have before you leave.

I lived with three girls and was in the same situation as you and went for it. I don't regret it at all. Just don't let her see you hook up with other girls and you'll be golden.
