I feel like this shouldn't be viewed in such black and white terms. Feet position should really just be viewed as an IOI. I wouldn't say you're wasting your time, but I've always used this trick to gauge the person's attention. Maybe she's focusing her attention on another person and you can use this as an indicator that you need to step up your game in that situation. I've mentioned this to my current gf; the first time we met I sat sort of perpendicular to her on a couch while she sat on the floor during a pregame. The only time she spoke to me, she would talk to me over her shoulder. So I didn't bother with her for a while but the more time I spent with her, the more she started focusing her attention on me, and I guess it all worked out.

If her feet are actively walking away from you, assume she's not interested.

If her feet are stationary and within arm's length, assume she's interested.

Foot direction is kind of a giveaway for any interaction. Salespeople watch feet as a guide for how interested a shopper might be. Feet pointed away means the person would rather not talk.

I wouldn't say it reveals all. Our nonverbals (i.e body language) are a huge part of communication. You have probably heard this multiple times on this subreddit; there is a really interesting TedTalk about body language that is frequently linked (totally recommend watching it by the way I find it very interesting).

Feet positioning isn't be-all-end-all of interest. It's only a part of it. Try to see the bigger picture and the whole of a person's nonverbals.

Allan Pease and Joe Navarra (both body language experts) talk about this. The important thing here is NOT to look at isolated ques/"tells" (here her feet) but looking at clusters (two or more ques that indicate the same). An example is when a girl looks at you from afar and you make eye contact. From here the cluster of body language ques would be smile + look down + preen (fix hair/clothing to look attractive).

And it doesn't matter what you do, nothing can change her interest.

i do not believe this for one second. there are plenty of girls i had no interest in until they started getting physical with me or i got to know their personality better. i had zero interest when i first met them and they definitely changed that later on.

Feet are a good indicator of interest and it isn't something that people know to mask when they are being deceptive (like facial expressions). BUT, an IOI still had to be taken in a cluster or IOIs, meaning that you need other IOIs to show interest, not just one. Also, interest isn't necessarily sexual....she could be interested in the conversation. That said, I always look at position of both body (is it pointed at you) and feet, as part of a cluster of IOIs (I count them as one IOI). "Bellybuttons and Feet" are actually covered in a book I helped out with, You Say More Than You Think by Janine Driver.

Of course you can change her interest...run more attraction (try changing to a different story, teasing, bantering, etc.) and she may change body position. No, don't give up just because of foot position. It's only one IOI.

This is true, but you just don't want to rely on feet. You gotta read body language as a whole.

If her feet are touching her ears is means she likes you.
