Not really a RP answer, but...

Really the best thing you can do to be more approachable is try to smile a lot more. You might suffer from "resting bitch face syndrome".

Try to keep body language more open:

Hold your drinks down by your waist instead of right in front of you
Try not to cross your arms
Keep good posture (stick out your boobs more)
(edit add) Don't walk like you have balls between your legs. God, I hate it when women do that. Walk with both feet pointing straight forward instead of pointing outward.

I'm not really sure what else you can do. We men are programmed to have to be the ones doing the approaching. If you see a man that you would like to approach you, try locking eyes with him and smiling confidently. That's the clearest signal I can think of other than yourself doing the approaching.

edit: And of course you should be running/working out every day if you aren't already. It never hurts to look better.

edit 2: It should also go without saying that you should damn near always wear makeup, style your hair, and smell good.

Most of the advice around here is tailored for guys. In general, I don't find women intimidating at all, but I'm 32 and I have a wide range of life experiences to draw upon. Different guys will give you different answers.

OP: get a hold of David Deida's work. There is a good chance that you are manifesting a masculine shell around you and not allowing your femininity to radiate out. Did/do you have a strong masculine presence in your life, now or when young?

Nothing would really intimidate me about a woman per se.

The only thing I can think that means is that you're really really unapproachable - probably because you have your bitch shield on full blast 100% of the time.

When I think of "intimidating" women I think of unpleasant women - real ball busters. In my experience, men tend to enjoy women who are pleasant and enjoyable to be around. There are all types of men though so maybe you will get lucky and find one that likes intimidating women!

I'll take a guess at that.

When people say you're intimidating, then you are a dominant/aggressive female. The thing is, a dominant male doesn't want to be fought over his place over and over, day after day again in a relationship. Either someone acknowledges a position and settels or leaves and works his way up. But constantly getting shit thrown at just for the sake of it is annoying.

A dominant female for a lot of males isn't worth the effort of being messed with daily. Instead they go for a more submissive girl since it has more benefits. Sure, there are men who like dominant/aggressive females more, but that's not the majority.

Intimidating means something seems odd for a female. Probably it's behaviour that doesn't mirror female qualities. For example: Clothing style, haircut, body language, speaking manner, general aggression.

To me, it seems odd if

you speak louder than most of the men
throw out a lot of passive aggressive stuff
wear saggy clothes or manly clothes
speak a lot just for the sake of it and interruppt constantly There is more, but I hope you get the idea.

I do not know you, but take a second look if you really mirror female qualities.

If you lie to attract someone, as long as you're with someone you have to keep lying that same lie. If you can't do that, don't lie; wait for someone who's compatible with you. You can't eventually just be yourself, as they weren't attracted to you for that, they're attracted to the lie, so as soon as you reveal yourself, they'll bail. NOT because your qualities are inherently undesirable - believe me, there's someone for everyone, no matter how odd - but because you lied to them and aren't the person they invested in.

It's called selection. If you continue to exist as you, the only people you will find are people who like you for you because your honesty selects for them. If you exist as someone you aren't, the only people you will find are people who like that person, but don't like you, because your dishonesty is selecting for someone else. It's really that simple.

For what it's worth I speak from experience - I am that intimidating woman (usually code for 'has opinions about stuff'), and I have an incredibly strong relationship with my partner that isn't going anywhere anytime soon, because we were honest from the get-go. There's no surprises, so no dissonance; we knew what we were getting into, and liked it. I was completely single and sexless for two years prior, so don't lose hope. The man who is equal won't care, and he definitely exists. In abundance.

Quality vs. quantity. Lie = quantity, honest = quality. Your choice.

Oh, and remember, your true self ALWAYS comes out. You can't hide it forever. So why not just skip the bullshit of lying in the first place?
