Honestly, the popularization of the "strong silent type of guy" is probably the biggest farce that has succeeded in hampering many men's success with women. That shit only works if you are very good looking, because, who doesn't like good looking people? For everybody else from fair looking to ugly, you're only hurting your own chances by sitting back and "speaking when spoken to" because girls don't have any impetus to talk to you really.

I think as long as you're being quiet because that's how you naturally are and not because you're scared to speak up, you'll be fine.

It would depend on the girl, but as long as being outspoken/relatively quiet is really who you are, then it would be much more likely that a girl could get over her preference.

Play to your strengths, you don't need to be someone you're not.

Don't worry about it.

There's a big difference between being reserved and being unable to communicate. As long as you're congruent, not quiet out of insecurity and move things forward you'll do fine.
