Hey everyone, first-time poster, semi-long-time lurker.

I would like to start off by saying that I really appreciate this subreddit, and it has helped me get started on some things like talking more confidently and making strong eye contact and have somewhat decent posture (though I have to frequently remind myself to stand up straight).

My issue, I suppose, is that I don't have much of a social circle. Most of the people I could call friends have moved away to the big city, and I have a feeling that it's hampering me having success. I don't really have places to hang out or a friend's place to go to, or get introduced to other people. And I, unfortunately, have a bit of social retardation going, in that, unless the other person is REALLY enthusiastic about talking to me, the conversation quickly dies off. I think I might be somewhat autistic, since my sister has it, but I'm not gonna let it stop me.

I'm not exactly super-awesome (no job yet, thin even though I'm going to the gym regularly as of 3 weeks ago, and mostly stay at home coding or reading), but I don't think I'm a loser either. Nothing I can't fix, if I know what to do.

Anyway, sorry for rambling a bit, but I think not having a social circle, even a small one, kind of closes off many common avenues to succeed to me. Am I wrong?
