Throwaway of course
Sorry if this kind of thing has been asked before, I have lurked here for ages and read loads of top posts and stuff from the wiki but still I am not getting anywhere.
A tiny bit of backstory: I was always an unattractive loser in school - fat, wore glasses, not much talents. Although even then I did have some girls interested in me, but such low self esteem I didn't believe they could be. Didn't lose my virginity until I was 21, went out with that girl for 2 years then we broke up a year ago. Since then I have had no other women in my life.
So, coming to the present day. I am completely different from how I was before. I am confident in myself, I have interests now, lots of hobbies, lots of friends. I can cook really well. I am tall and thin. Exercise regularly, great hygiene. Often complimented on how well I dress. I am fully happy with who I am, people often tell me how nice and cool and fun I am. Quite a few very hot girls have told me to my face that I'm beautiful.
By all logic, I should be rolling in the women but like I said since breaking up with my girlfriend last year I haven't gotten even a kiss.
I have no self esteem issues anymore. I have a lot of friends and many available female aquaintances, many of whom I am fairly sure want to sleep with me, and a fair few I am 100% sure do.
I have no problem talking to women, and they often tell me I'm cool and funny and really nice and such. People really do like me a lot. I think my main problem is I just don't know how to move past platonic conversation and show sexual intent. I can chat with a girl for ages and make her laugh but by the end of the night I have another friend and that's it. I guess I'm not good at flirting and making a move on someone. I'm never sure when or how to make the move, and girls always want us guys to make the first move.
It almost always involves parties at friends houses, where there are many women who I may know slightly or are friends of friends, and I often see them looking my way like they are interested. But I don't know how to show them I want to sleep with them too, conversation stays nice and friendly. Or if I am totally sure she is into me, I don't know how to make a move on her, like we are in a room full of people who we both know, should I just go in to kiss her, or ask if she wants to come upstairs with me? I'm worried that if I do it wrong, everyone in the room will see me fall on my face when she pulls away.
I have just finished reading Mode One and while it was a very interesting read with regards to human behaviour and enlightening in some areas, I can't imagine saying to a girl I've just met, or one I'm somewhat friendly with already, "do you want to have sex?" right out of the blue. I don't want to come across as creepy. I just feel like there are some steps in between starting up a conversation, and making it sexual or flirty that I am missing here. Please help
P.S. I'm quite the (hopeless) romantic type. I am not interested in manipulative pick up tricks and such. Sure I want to have one night stands as much as the next guy, but I am also genuinely interested in getting to know women and open to seeing if there's anything more there. But I can't seem to even get my foot in the door.
What am I doing wrong/how do I make things flirty/sexual in social situations?
Thanks very much for you time and advice
