Dont put too much thought into it. I know several women that put they are in relationships on FB to avoid guys hitting on them via FB. Its a deterrent to stalker types and it looks like you might have fallen for it.

Or she's in a relationship and giving out her number. You can either leave that trainwreck if thats the case, or have as much fun then bounce. Your call.

Maybe she's doing it so guys don't approach her at work. Some of my friends do this because a lot of man hit on them in their work.

Maybe it's just for status, or she thinks she might been seen as in a relationship always.

Anyways ask her, delicately but firmly. Then you do you according to the answer. I myself would never date a girl with a boyfriend but I usually make sure the dude exists first xD.

I wouldn't worry about it, as long as you're okay with having sex with her with the possibility that she might not be available for a committed relationship. Keep her in your pipeline and keep going. Try to set up a first date with her in the meantime and see where it goes. If you feel like it's not worth your time if she has a relationship, then bring it up. No fear. "Hey, I was going to ask you out but saw you're in a relationship on facebook. Is that a real relationship or a gay best friend relationship :p"
