coming from a girl, i think you actually did a good job. if a random guy came up to me and told me i was cute and to have a nice day, even if i wasnt interested, it wouldve made my day. Made me more confident, and made me feel good about myself. So maybe you might feel like you screwed up, but 1) you probably made her day and 2) you were able to overcome a fear. Id feel damn good about myself if I were you ^{^} good job!

It is good that you are challenging yourself because it is probably one of the most beneficial things you can do. You achieved your first goal and should move on to your next goal but I advise you to not set overly ambitious goals right from the get go. If you go from 0-100 you run the risk of burning out, so take it one step at a time.

Also continue working on your self confidence and self worth. It will help you not care as much about approval from the ladies. Nice work lad, keep it up.

For next time, stay in the set longer. Unless she explicitly says something like, "Well, it was nice meeting you" (and even then, she could simply be shy) or turns away from you, you're still "in" for her.

If it's at night, see if you can invite her home. When I was totally inexperienced with women I still would get laid. Why? Because I was a dog and I tried. I'd grab them and kiss them or invite them home to fuck, even without "knowing" that they were ready (but I suppose I was listening to intuition and my emotional intelligence, so if you have Asperger's or something like this, you will need to learn the mechanics of body language before acting, lest you completely misread something and get slapped/punched).

If you do day game, see if you can set up an instant-date, suggest a date ("Hey, we should grab coffee sometime" and then get her number), or, hell, invite her home!

Congratulations brother man! I just did the same too, but I feel like I should've gone ahead and gotten her number while I was at it. I was at the gym yesterday with my friends at the squat rack when I noticed an unfamiliar ass at the front desk. I figured she had to be new because I hadn't seen before. She started at the treadmills so I couldn't see her face. Whatever, I move on with my exercises then she comes off the treadmill and I kid you not, she had one of the prettiest bare faces I have ever seen. So I waited until she was done with her exercises and approached her at the exit as she was about to leave. I introduced myself, she did the same too. We spoke a little and I told her I approached her because I hadn't seen her before and thought she looked amazing. Apparently she only lived like 5 minutes away from the gym and it was her second time here. I didn't ask if she was new here and it completely slipped my mind that she might not be new here and that I completely messed up by not getting her number. Like, if she wasn't new here then why was it only her second time here at this gym? Damn, it didn't occur to me. What if I never see her again. Still feeling down about it, honestly. But whatever, here's to hoping that she becomes a regular at the gym I go to. I guess I just decided not to get her number since I didn't want her to think of it as creepy or anything since I thought that the gym wasn't the best place to pick up chicks. She looked fine and everything, all smiles, had physical escalation (held her hand while speaking for a good minute after introducing ourselves) It just didn't occur to me that I might not be able to see her anymore after that. :/
