I've done something similar before. You know what worked for me in the past? Admitting I was nervous and restating the awkward thing I did to them. It usually solicits a laugh or two which can help. But it's hit or miss.

If it makes you feel any better, was talking up this one girl at a bar who was really attractive and wearing a real short skirt. Things were going well until my voice cracked......yep.

We've all crashed an burned. Next time just have a bit of a game plan. You don't need to plan the whole thing, but at least have your opener ready.

I go with "Hi, I'm Smooth21." and then I extend my hand for a hand shake. Sometimes I use different openers, but only situationally.

Another move that I have had success with: If you see a group of girls trying to take a selfie, approach them and offer to take the pic for them. They will likely say yes, and then you'll already have opened the group.

Back when I was first starting approaches I remember I faced so many rejections I became so jaded to them. I just walked up to a woman and had no idea what to say. So I told her "hey I uhhh... well... ok I don't know what to say... pause yea I got nothing"

That wasn't even a line. I genuinely had no idea what to say or do (I was very new to this). She ended up actually talking to me for a bit and asking me questions. Maybe she felt bad for me or maybe she liked me. It was too long ago for me to remember if there were any IOIs and I did not know enough to look for them. Anyway as long as you are genuine, it often does not matter what you say or do.

once I was wasted in a bar in Seattle and had to take a shit super bad so went to the mens bathroom and the only stall didn't have a fucking door on it, so I had to shit in the open basically. Oh well not that big of a deal, until I realized the stall was directly in front of the entrance door to the bathroom (which had no resistance, meaning if the door was opened and not closed manually it would stay open) just as im rolling out my first turd log I realize the bathroom entrance is wide open and a group of about 4-6 pretty attractive girls walk by, see me, start pointing and screaming laughing, and pulling out their iphones to take pics of me while I was shitting with the Deer in the Headlights expression on my face. That was pretty embarrassing, oh well it makes for a good laugh.

TL;DR I took a drunken dump in a stall w/ no door and a bunch of girls saw and took pictures of me
