Yes, it’s a pretty crucial aspect nowadays. Especially for younger age ranges (like 18-25), girls are glued to their phones and you have to play your cards right. I don’t think it needs its own subreddit though, there’s pretty much all the info you need already posted here.

Eh, I don’t really agree. I’m 23 and date girls around my age. I hate texting and tell them upfront that texting is just not my thing and I mostly just use it for communicating plans. I’ll respond if they text me, but if they try to start s conversation, I’ll say we should save and talk about this in person, and I’ll transition into setting up a date and depending on what the topic was, maybe write it down to bring it up during the date.

They’re usually fine with it. Maybe it’d be different if I were going for relationships, but the texting (or lack thereof) hasn’t ever played a noticeable role in seduction for me. It almost feels like a distance makes the heart grow fonder type of thing.

I prefer to call them. If communication is absolutely necessary to maintain/build a relationship or to set up plans then calling is the way to go.

I personally hate texting but do it out of necessity.

That is why I usually put all my energy into making person in person contact and just not text them unless they text me first.

About long distance, I go the skype, phonecall, send surprises in the mail, visit as often in person routes.

If you do enough of the "real" shit, texting honestly does not matter at all. So it saves me the trouble of needing to really put much energy into both learning and spending time doing something I just don't like.

But, someone insists on texting as a way to "seduce", your only real strength in that domain is how often and how much you text. You need to keep them chasing you by not texting often, not sending it first, not providing information and make them reel it out you.

If they text and ask what you are doing I sometimes reply "naughty things", and they may respond "ohhhh doing what things". Response A - If I really am not doing much to brag about I'll reply "well, you of course". Response B - If I am doing something worthy to write home about I'll make them keep asking for more by replying "something social, you're missing out". Then they keep asking and i'll finally respond "yea my friend is playing at this event tonight, I'll send pics!"

Basically make them chase info, keep it light hearted, tease, be mysterious, get their minds wondering what is going on, make them think of you more.

Only write them on social media. Its the same as texting but way different too. I only text them to invite them to do something. If you wont see them for a while then just send one text that is something relevant to her. Like I just saw that movie we were talking about. Or I saw so and so and thought of you.

I'm actually kinda impressed by the other comments.

I use plenty of online dating and have had massively long text conversations with people I've never even met. I've mastered the ability to ride the fine line between seriousness, playfulness, innocence, and sexual escalation without really thinking about it. But ya know what, I wonder if it's a useless even counter-productive skill to acquire. At the end of the day, women date real life people. The type of wit you build via text is different than the type of charm you present in person. Ultimately the in-person version of you is the one who has to make all the moves and the one they'll grow to like.

So the question is, does the online/text persona help the IRL persona? Maybe? Maybe not? I kinda think these other guys are right. Do enough texting to get the date, to get the phone call. The IRL you has to do all the work anyways, might as well focus on those skills.
