I frequently go to a local haircutting place to get my haircut. Usually it's the same routine, an older lady cuts my hair, I might tell her what I want done with my hair, and apart from that, we usually don't speak much to each other.

But today I decided to go a different time and a cute girl around my age came to cut my hair. At first, I really didn't say much. But then she began to ask me questions. Any plans going on tonight? What are you going to school for? Before you know it, we're talking to each other and she keeps asking me questions about myself. She asks me what kind of shows on Netflix I watch? We started talking about black mirror and then somehow that led to us talking about marvel movies and how she liked the latest Avengers movie.

The whole time, I was thinking wow a girl who actually puts in effort to try and talk to me. I contemplated getting her number but I had doubts. For one thing, she was probably just being friendly and nice since that's her job. But why has no other hair style lady been as friendly and talkative as her? Also, woudn't it be awkward to ask someone out at work? Especially in front of other hair dressers?

Inevitably, I didn't ask for her number. I simply said, thank you for the haircut, paid at the front desk, then walked out the door. Although maybe I should have asked...
