21 yo. Is cold approach out of date for my generation?

Independent from parties, most people are socially awkward and just want to sit on their phones and swipe away on tinder or whatever tf they do, and I feel like stranger to stranger interactions are increasingly rare.

You know what? This is probably true. But how many people think that's a good thing? How many girls daydream of meeting heir 'Prince Charming' through Tinder or a drunken hook-up?

Maybe offline socialising is 'out of date', but a lot of people think that sucks. That's what makes you extra awesome for doing it.

I do a lot of daygame. Sure, some girls get creeped out. But, when I click with a girl, she's so pleased that I 'had the bravery' to approach her. For this reason alone , I get a lot of girls who might not have looked at me twice in a club or online.

People like to be approached as long as you are ok looking: proper facial hair, clean, dress properly, doesn't have a weird attitude.

If you approach people, it's like you recognize their existence, because they have something: beauty, fun accessories, good fashion sense... Everybody love that. Maybe the interaction will be short if the girl is busy, but nevertheless, it will give a spark in her day.

It's been like that for forever in my country. I guess it's only slowly arriving in the US. In Europe, it has generally been frowned upon to talk to strangers for a long time.
Here, you'd ruin all your chances with a girl by approaching her without knowing her simply by breaking that big social taboo.

I will say, in the SJW culture I can imagine cold approaching in the scope of what might be called a "Safe Space" could blow up in your face. FYI.

You bring up some sad realities of our world. I see couples all the time eating dinner, doing whatever and both of them are faces glued into their phones. Does anyone talk anymore?? It's pretty sad. At the same time, I don't think cold approaching is out of style even for 21 year olds. Be the guy who does it. Some women might find it strange, but it could be that they are just not used to it (personally I find it strange to even say that - because I give women cold approach attention all the time, and I see plenty of other guys doing it too). Be the guy who does it while other guys are standing around worrying about it. Fuck it, right? You only live once.

It will be awkward it's a weird situation to be in for both you and them and especially with growing technology it makes social interaction less common but if you stay confident and brush off the awkwardness it becomes a very helpful tool

To be honest, I think it IS a bit out of date nowadays! I agree completely with your observations.

Everyone I know meets girls at work and school and stuff.

When I go out I literally almost NEVER see people cold approach or even talk to strangers, even in bars and clubs! People go out in their 'groups' and they want to only socialise within that group only.

People are glued to their phones often and don't seem to know how to react if, on the rare even, a stranger talks to them. They just aren't interetsed

And as you say, on the super rare occasion where I see strangers hooking up, it's some handsome dude who has obviously been chosen by the girl before he's even opened his mouth!

Having said all of that, I still cold approach every weekend! I think it's a a super low odds game (unless you are handsome) but to be honest, it can still be fun, and every once in a while, you can get lucky and hook up with some hot girl who you would never normally have.

Keep doing it. Just don't spam approach in a college like a PUA nerd and try to pick your targets a little better. It can also ohelp people with social skills and confidence almost as a form of exposure therapy
