You absolutely do not need to suffer through a romance novel to learn seduction and most of the movies/shows always have the guy relentlessly chasing until the girl caves in.

With all due respect, your statement "This speaks for the women's intense desire for romance and security, something a few men can both deliver." is not only untrue, but also a broad generalization and sexist comment about men.

Just because a man chooses not to open up to you doesn't mean he is incapable, nor does it mean he is somehow required to meet your vision of what he is supposed to be.

There has never been a misunderstanding about women longing for romance or security. It's just that some men don't want to have that with a particular woman, and are under no obligation to provide it. Men want security also, so we do what independent people do, establish it for ourselves.

Film and series stuff is not reality. It may be fantasy, and it may appeal to women’s fantasy but nothing says they want men like that irl. They’re secure and in control of their fantasies in their thoughts, unlike in real life situations

Not gonna lie, Lucifer is a great freaking show. And until the 4th Season they only mildly hinted at the Romance between Lucifer and the Detective

Mind you, Lucifer is an absolute devil at seduction; clean, cut, in shape, willing to push the envelope with everyone around him, absolute confident and just a little cocky. He knows who he is and isnt ashamed of himself. Good role model tbh

MIND YOU, he is, quite literally the devil. So... actual results may vary.

Not Shades of Gray though that sucks. Too much pretentious, stupid filler.

There are better (dumber and less pretentious) chick novels out there. Couldn't tell you any names but there is this series about a woman who joins a rock band and I think she was getting groped by 3 band members and they were reaching for their condoms on like, page 8.

None of these novels actually show a really uninhibited girl though. The heroine always "settles down" with a stereotypical monogamous provider-chode by the end. AFAICT from my limited perusal. Society demands that women accept this assigned role even if it allows her to temporarily be free and wild, and no female novelist is going to portray anything else.
