TLDR: Asked girl out at work and she said no because she's already talking to some dude

So right now I'm working a seasonal job that ends in about 2 weeks. I was talking to this girl a bit as we worked and she seemed pretty chill. She seemed cool with flirty touches and was bringing up how we'd see eachother outside of work or whatever. Anyways, I overhear that she is talking to some dude right now but I'm assuming it ain't nothing serious yet. I had planned on asking on one of the last few days to avoid the potential drama that could come from it.

Since she is "talking" to a dude right now I wanted to shoot my shot before they became official. It was a risk but I was willing to try. Anyways after awkwardly sitting next to her for about a minute exchanging random words I say "Hey name, do you want to go on a date?" She didn't seem shitty or anything, she was smiling but she said she was talking to this dude already. Out of curiosity I asked how long they been talking.

It's been about 2 weeks she said. Then as a last ditch effort I ask if they met yet(maybe this guy ain't making a move idk) and she said yeah. I think I took it pretty well overall. My biggest goal if rejected was to not look or sound like a salty bitch. I'm gonna hope when I come back into work no one is making a big deal about it.

Some people say the feel really good even after being rejected. I don't really feel super good tbh. Like don't get me wrong I'm glad I took action, and while I'm not super sad or anything, I just kinda feel the same.
