Pride is a very interesting emotion. If you read Aristotle's "Ethics" he describes pride as a virtue and upon examination of the material it has even been described as the key virtue.

All the great characters in ancient Greek (as well as other) mythology had this virtue of pride. They often spoke of how tough they were, how many people they had killed or battles they'd won with no self apology about it.

The thing with pride is that it is self referential. It also involves an evaluation; an evaluation of yourself and a positive one. Pride is also a social emotion meaning that you can feel pride in/for someone/thing else (usually must be connected to you in some way) and feel pride when praised by someone else. It almost always carries a moral or ethical association with it and by this I mean it's almost impossible to feel true pride when you break the moral or ethical expectations of your society tying it back again to a social emotion.

Since the feminist movement men have gradually be taught to take no pride in being a man. At least not the type of man we are biologically born to be. We have been taught from an early age that the feminist movement liberated women from the shackles we had them in and that we must feel shame, remorse, guilt, and regret for putting women through this as well as being the cause of "patriarchy."

Schools are taking pride away from boys by eliminating competition. How can they feel pride for putting forth an effort and triumphing if there is no opportunity to compete? Strict punishments for physical contact don't allow young boys to regain their pride when it is put into question by a douche bag bully. My dad always told me you have to fight them even if you lose you'll feel worse if you do nothing because taking action builds pride in men. Conquering builds pride in men. Rising to power builds pride.

I'm sure other members on this sub can think of many other examples of shifting values away from the masculine as they are discussed almost daily in "men's rights." By creating norms and mores that differ strongly from the innate biological tendencies of men we are destroying the ability to feel real pride in ourselves since society will continue to condemn our natural tendencies.

Despite all these efforts to shift values away from the masculine thanks to TRP we know that it's ok take pride in our masculinity and to embrace the qualities of a fully developed male and people will respond. We need to take more pride in ourselves. Hold yourself in high regard. Go to the gym lift heavy ass shit off the ground and over your head, throw things, push hard, run and jump. Be a caveman, beat your fists on your chest, go outside and just yell at the top of your lungs. Stop rolling over to other people, do something bold, compete, eat red meat and potatoes, TAKE THE PUSSY OF THE PEDESTAL, and most importantly show others how to be proud of themselves.

I know this post falls right in line with a lot of the main ideas discussed daily on this sub but I feel the the idea and word "Pride" isn't mentioned enough and we need to be reminded to take pride in who we are and what we're born to be.

Know who you are and what you want and be proud of it. Be damn proud.
