Don't respond. If she reaches out to you again, continue flirting as if nothing happened as that can mean that she has changed her mind.

Trying to convince her comes off as try-hard and needy. Show her you can handle rejection by just not giving her any attention when she says that. To you it should just be like a shoulder shrug. You have options. So you don't have to be obsessed with the outcome of this one candidate. This should be your mindset. It shows that you know you have value, and that will be the most attractive response when she questions your value.

I've had women say "I'm old enough to be your mother" and I've had a bit of success responding with "and I could be your daddy" with a wink. You could also try to go along with her and say something like "you're right. Idk if you can handle such a young stallion". Sometimes they just want to hear that age doesn't matter to you. Its a shit test, always a shit test. You can say anything as long as you are not apologising or justifying yourself to her, it doesn't really matter. " age is just a number" was never viable, because you are trying to justify.

You clearly understand that you shouldn't be knocked of centre and lose frame to a woman, so its hard to see why you dont realise this is a shit test.

I've never had "you're too young for me" but I have had the "But I'm older than you" line and I've just responded with "So what?" / "I don't think it matters at all that you're a little bit older than me" / "You say that like it's a bad thing 😋" ...basically play it off like it's no big deal because....well... it IS no big deal.

Or sometimes it leads to deeper conversations about age vs maturity and I make my opinion clear that you can be young and mature for your age, or things I find attractive about her that negate age, or if it's a stupidly low age gap (e.g. like she's a few months/ less than 5 years older) I'll call it out in a funny/playful way, or even indirectly bring it up offhand in a "we're basically the same age" manner. It's always ended positively when I did that

3-year age difference between 2 adults is trivial.
