What if I'm just not good at making real close friends. I can be friendly and laugh with people acquaintances easily but Ive never had a best friend since elementary school and I never feel like reaching out to my friends nowadays (im 32yrs male living in CA) so all we ever do is just surface level shallow things. I do enjoy their company when we hang out and do stuff but its usually one specific activity we have in common and nothing else beyond that. Sort of like work friends if you see what i mean.

I used to have more friends in the past but now we dont talk anymore and it doesnt bother me.

Does that mean im really broken ? I dont even know if id miss my friends if they went missing or something.

True. If you want a girlfrind, the nice guy approach is almost correct. Just dont hide your desires/interests/personality, due to a need of being liked.

Think of jekyll and hyde. When you try to be just jekyll (good/perfect) and hyde your hyde (sexual/edgy/different) youll constantly come off as uncanny, and youll likely have an outburst eventually. If you can balance them, being good but honest, then youll do great.

And remember, we generally view others vulnerability better than we view our own.
