Hero's Journey

I'm not an expert on the Hero's Journey. But from what I gather, you need Mentors, the Mindset to see Challenges as a good thing you can grow from, a Mission you feel strongly about, and the Desire to give back to the world.

For me, my Mission is to write books that teach people how to be more Productive. I have autism, which is a condition that affects everyone differently, and it makes it harder for me to work as many hours as others. So I've had to learn to get more done in less time.

Then I had other friends with autism or other disabilities that prevented them from working as many hours ask me for advice. So I decided to write something to help them. This is my Desire to give back to the world.

I've had Mentors teach me, and I'm still finding new Mentors. Mentors save us time, and there's a motivation boost in my mind to think a mentor taught me.

I do have a lot of Challenges, but I tell myself these make me stronger. I watched some videos on Hero Journey and Law of Attraction that said challenges are sent by the universe to point us in the right direction or teach us skills we need to achieve our Mission. So I try to have the Mindset of seeing Challenges as inevitable, and possibly even a good thing.

I think you need to find something you're passionate about, and that can contribute to the world.

But that's just my opinion, and is what worked for me. There could be another interpretation of the Hero Journey that works for you.

I feel like there is a lot of misconception about the Hero, it's an ideal that you hold yourself to in the absence of a god. Since a god is really just a figure who judges your actions, when you lack that, you have nothing greater to judge your actions by and you drift through life engaging in all sorts of bad behavior.

The Hero represents a solution to that, which you yourself can describe, it's a greater version of yourself which is supposed to be unattainable, Nietsche called it the Ubermensch, it's the version of yourself which can judge your actions.

Now, it's up to you to create that Hero, imagine yourself in 10 years if you choose to make the right decisions every day. That's your Hero and once you have that image in my mind, it's far easier to see what you should stop doing and what you should be doing.

Hero's Journey

What the fuck does that even mean?

Make money, make friends, fuck bitches, visit places and die. That's it. At the end of the day that's what matters. No need to be a fucking hero.

And incase you got some crazy fantasy to be some ultimate hero figure, be prepared to pay the price for it.
