Just keep it casual. Get her number then ask her to hang out. If you ask her for a date after work she might be inclined to decline( after work most people are just looking to get home) but if you text her and build some back and forth between each other then ask her out she’ll probably say yes. Don’t count asking for a date after work out if you feel the vibe but I think the odds work better if you get her number first.

Just ask if she wants to go out some time. I just did the same thing with a girl I met at my new job. If you haven't escalated even a little bit then don't expect a yes, but don't not try.

The girl I asked out is on the same page as me with keeping our lives separate from work. She has a kid and not a lot of free time as she is the GM of a restaurant in the restaurant group I work for. I'm the new chef at this spot and I work 55 hours a week. Our schedules make it hard to make plans, but I'm super independent and so is she. We are going to get coffee tomorrow morning.

If she is interested you'll know. But if you haven't tested the waters yet, even if its lightly, don't assume anything. I knew this girl was in to me when I first met her and just so happens that she's attractive and super cool. Worst thing that can happen is she says no. If that's the case then just laugh it off and don't let it effect the way you interact. You'll be fine.

What do you want to do? It's more worthwhile to answer that rather than psyching yourself if this or that action is success or failure. Judging your success by thinking you have to do the right actions gives you an excuse to not take responsibility for your life. Do what you want to do and own it. If you want cute stuff go for lunch, if you want laid back have a few drinks real slick after work. Either one is cool if it's what you want to do.

Not being a guy who can handle making plans (and decisions) is not the guy you want to present yourself as. Don't leave it up to her -- invite her to do something specific.

Drinks after work seems like a low-pressure money move. Doesn't mean she's in to you if she says yes, but if she does she'll say yes or counter with a better time for her rather than after work to hang out. Even if you totally misread her and she has no intention of hanging out with you or liking you, saying no to after work drinks isn't taking it on the chin

If I were you, I'd just ask her if she would like to go out sometime. You know, casually, mid conversation. "Uhm, I was thinking if you'd like to go out sometime". She will give you her number. I personally don't like to chat online tons before going out, specially if I feel that the person likes me. I would just chat a bit with her and propose a date on a day off - I think going out for lunch, then a walk in a nice place, ice cream or something is really nice.
