Wait for male BC. Removing your ability to procreate at the age of 18 is stupid. (Vasectomies aren't always reversible). While it's most common in women, plenty of men have no desire for kids at your age and then later on do want them. Honestly there's too much fucking paranoia about women stealing your sperm. Not that it doesn't happen, but the chance is not so high that you should permanently sabotage your fertility because of it.

If you get one freeze some sperm, that should help grease the skids with the doctors, and it gives you options later on.
If you both agree you don't want kids there is no reason to tell you have a vasectomy and lots of reason not to tell. If somewhere down the road someone does give you an oops, be sure to have all your ducks in a row before you give her the bad news. Get tested cause they aren't a 100% sure thing.

tl,dr: weather or not to get a vasectomy and at what age is completely up to you, but if you do you shouldn't tell your partner before you're certain that she's not a psycho. Good luck with that.

Long version: for the "at 18" part that's really up to you. From my personal experience I could advice you both ways: most of my friends didn't want a kid for most of their life but changed Idea past a certain age or when they met a girl worth keeping, so my advice here would be to get the vasectomy after you've had your desired number of children; but I have personally dodged a fucking bullet (pun intended) at age 23 when a girl I was dating decided that a baby was exactly what we both wanted (luckily I started pulling out after the first time the condom broke), so cumthieves, though rare, are not unheard of. Also of note: I was broke at the time, so it's not as if she was looking for a meal ticket; in fact her family was pretty wealthy and she already had all her wants catered to. Se was just looking for her "happily ever after" and decided that I was it after maybe six months we were dating.

As for the "should I tell future SO's" part I have no doubt: fuck no. Not until your relationship is old enough to go to school, imo.

You're 18. I don't care about how much experience you can tout or tell us about how much you understand. Right here you're showing a great misunderstanding of how "gold diggers" actually work.

From 18 to 24 there was a massive mental/physical/life development in myself.

My only advice: You're not as smart as you think, and you don't know what you're talking about. Go work on getting experience and succeeding/failing in multiple activities to learn about yourself and coming to conclusions based on life vs. reading about other people's journeys.

Suppose he finds the perfect woman... and the perfect woman would likely want kids. But you can't. So you lose her. You'd in fact have more chance of attracting gold diggers if you HAVE a vasectomy than not, in today's world. Gold diggers often do NOT want kids because kids cost money.
