Class isn't immutable.

Race is partially context dependent, strange as it is to think about.

And no, I reject on a fundamental level any idea that men and women have true irreconcilable differences. Practically, there may be some truth to that because there are limits to how much you can change things that are culturally derived within a particular time frame, but they can be changed it's just a question of how much and how willing.

It may take continuous effort over longer periods of time than we could ever consider reasonable, but it can be done.

So much of our social environment is derived from very novel innovations in culture, religion, economic organization. We really need to learn to stop naturalizing how we live in how we think about ourselves. We'll all be living in a different world before we're dead.

Hell, all of us were born into a different world than the ones we're living in now. Unless there's some secret 12 year old hiding on here. If so, they really need to go somewhere else.

How many times have conversations on this very sub turned into some variation of "it was easier back then, I don't know what's going on now"?

Context is important, and it's always changing.

We really take for granted how much continuity there is between the present and the past, to the point that people speak of anything between 200 years ago and 2,000 years ago as if they are interchangeable.

The past is a deeply alien place, and the men and women there are not your brothers and sisters. They do not know you or your troubles and we can only attempt to understand some impression of theirs.

There is no deep and abiding dynamic between men and women that has existed for all time except that we all have our own particular reasons for wanting and not wanting each other, and even that is contextualized by our time and place.

Pessimism serves none of us.

Look it's very simple. There is no way you can act that is genuine and authentic that won't piss SOMEONE off. How you flirt. How you display interest. How you try to physically escalate with a girl. That's all uniquely you and some women will like it. Some will think you're an idiot or a creep that's just how the world works.

At some point, you just have to accept that not everyone will like you and nor should they. Some girls you hit on will remember the interaction as a fun time even if nothing happens. Others will think you were a complete dick. If you have a solid circle of friends and acquaintances and have people who like being with you then you're fine. You're only in the "I have fucked up" region if no one wants to hang out with you, and fun fact the overly nice people fall in there. You get tolerated at best but that's about it.

There is no model for behavior and interaction because it's not some exact science experiment you can break down with controlled variables. There are certain things that are more universal yes but there is a ton of nuance to all of it.

Barring flirting, aim your attention at women who reciprocate instead of women you orbit and pretend to befriend in a platonic manner.

This is the normal, natural, proven method of courting.

I mean, yeah, pretty much. I'm sure some of my exes think I'm a bitch, I think a few of them sucked. I'm sure I bruised a few people's egos by turning them down, and they annoyed me when they kept pestering me with "why", I'm sure neither of us had a great experience with the wole interaction.

I might be missing the point here, but most people do not view the other gender as an enemy. We can relate to each other to a degree and our goals aren't that different or contradicting to each other. Our sexualities have certain differences and there are parts we might find to accept or be at peace with, sure, but it shouldn't make us feel as if we were enemies.

Curiously enough social medias have made it easier and simultaneously harder to relate to each other. From one hand, we have platforms to connect, share our experiences and communicate, from the other, they do a great job at promoting dividing content and creating echo chambers. Plus, people tend to share and pay more attention to negative content, we also tend to talk about negative things more often. Happily married people and people who don't have much problems dating often just don't talk about it. They have other problems they pay attention to.

If you want to look for a positive gender model, you might want to filter the content you're getting. Concentrate on posts about positive roles rather than just mindlessly scroll through TwoX or some random TRP twitter. If you seek a positive male role, I'd recommend you to get involved in volunteering, maybe something related to mentoring children - these programs tend to have a lack of men there.

Same. I keep reading about how easy it supposedly is, how the bar is in hell, how "I don't know anyone that struggles" and it really makes me question if I'm ever going to be good enough.

The most beneficial view to take, is at an individual level. All other contexts, should be in service to this.

The primary reason is because fundamentally, one is essentially limited. Until one gains enough power, to actually influence outcomes around themselves. Otherwise, they are basically powerless. The more power one can exert, the more influential their individual world view becomes. Take the Warren Buffet and the Trade Unionist analogy. The Trade Unionist’s sphere of influence? Is limited. Warren Buffet’s? Contrastingly different.

Moral relativism is the death of society. You are an adult you should be able to identify behaviors that cause social degradation and those engagin and promoting such acts and label those as villains.

Even more moral relativism, just stop. Those peoples interest is to fuck everyone over for immediat self gain why would you aprove it? Think for a single moment, those people don't think they're doing good or bad, don't care about morality, they just want what you have and will use the government for it.
