My wife has cancer and I believe studies have shown that men are more likely to leave when the female half is sick. You'll see women howling about how terrible men are because of this.

But, women are more likely to leave their partners when they fall on hard times financially, whether it's job loss, reduced income or the woman makes more than the man.
