How do you feel about this term? I've ranted before, but I really hate this term and how it's always given a very negative stink and stigma. Like it's somehow a bad thing to have men in anything, and it takes replacing men in their line of work with women to make it right. I also hate the implication that jobs that have mostly men are intentionally keeping women out. I don't care if a particular job or line of work has more men or women, as long as they're qualified and consistantly reliable for their positions is all that matters. "Male dominated" is always given such a sinister aura to it, which I hate. Why not just use "mostly male" to describe jobs where there's more men? There's also the implication that men dominate society and intentionally keep out women, which I hate and from there it pretty much becomes interchangable with misandrists' favorite imaginary boogeyman, the patriarchy. It's just such a negative-sounding and divisive term, and one I think is overdue to be retired.
