Im in the same situation as well. Been working out every day, but lately I have made the mistake of drinking a lot. At the time it makes you kinda numb, but the day after is horrible. Yesterday I have been drinking way too much again and for me this was the last time. I decided that I'm not gonna drink one drop of alcohol anymore untill I'm "cured" Today is like a complete nightmare again and I'm really depressed.

It takes time.

The more it was her, and not you, the longer the healing process takes.

My recommendation is to try to be productive during this time. It might take you 1, 3, 5 years to heal. But you don’t want to look back after 5 years and say to yourself “I was just sad and trying to replace her with someone new that entire time”.

Life is soooooo short. Many of us are more than halfway done with this thing called life. High school might feel like it happened just a year ago. Our wedding cake feels like it was cut just a few months ago. My point: life is short.

So set meaningful, challenging yearly goals. Try to achieve those goals. So at least when you do eventually heal and you look back, you won’t feel like you wasted your precious time on earth.

Hobbies are good, too, but it’s best to have meaningful / productive goals as the foundation. Then stack hobbies (specifically new hobbies or hobbies you didn’t share with your ex) on top of achieving those goals.

And lean on your friends. Not all will be receptive. But you’ll learn who your true friends are in the coming year(s).

I’ve been told the denial stage of grief is the longest. It’s brutal. I miss my wife to….so much. Not just her, but our life together, her family our friends. We need to support each other here make it one day at a time.

Stop looking for someone new. Get well sorbd some time with your feelings. Get outside getting some sun. Start hitting the gym, be around your friends. It's three months for me and she's moving on to some dude. I think about her a little less everyday. you're going to through this. Takes time to heal. But do heal and I am sorry buddy. Been though it three times. It don't get easier you're gonna get better at dealing with it.

I’ve just started this process, but the best advice I was given is to focus on yourself, and your kids if you have them. Be the best version of yourself that you can be and everything else will hopefully fall into place.
