So...At the risk of making y'all cringe, 😁I thought I would weigh in on Man v Bear.

So I have experienced the inverse , I was hiking alone in the woods (like a dumbass) and accidentally started down a side trail that literally disappeared in front of me. I

I was shook, but I stopped in my tracks, and turned around to see a 30ish to 40ish woman right behind me. Let me tell you the relief was instantaneous.

She was really nice, but I warned her about the trail behind me and she admitted that she had never gone this way before, but she knew the trail back.

I thought this was interesting because before I saw her, I genuinely thought about what it would be like to get stuck out there after dark and not wanting to accidentally starve to death. (I am not usually this careless btw)

I also encountered a tent scene after an attack, people were gathered around, and I honestly could not tell you whether it was a bear or a man that did it. We were near the trailhead, and my first thought was angry vagrant.

I also used to worry about serial killers near me. I actually may have talked about this with the young mom I met, πŸ˜… but she seemed pretty chill.

I have only encountered bears on my own twice, (same sub adult black bear male), which was strange for me because I had an immediate fight or flight response (more primal than you can imagine) I managed to suppress it, but backed away slowly. (Both times I met him he ran from me, but I know if In my head I knew if it charged I was toast).

I guess the point in what I am saying, is that the issue I had with the women choosing the bear, is that having experienced the fear of encountering a bear alone, and being stranded I would pick the human almost every time.

I was the man alone in the woods, and I was genuinely happy that I ran into that woman, because starving to death or dying from exposure is a horrible way to go.

The bear jumping out in front of me was slightly more scary, because I have seen them disarticulate a deer carcass infront of me.

I understand being unnerved by encountering some man whose "off" but the fear I felt from the bear was very different.

I guess I will always be confused by the women choosing the bear, because the thought of a woman being alone in the woods genuinely distresses me. (Despite being Hardline Redpill in dating I definitely always saw women as human beings)

What do you guys think? If you saw my younger teenage to twenties version of myself in the woods, would you rather leave me to die in the woods or encounter the bear near a shredded campsite?

(Feel free to roast me btw, I was young and angry at the time, I've had people avoid me on the street before, but this random woman had no problem with me)
