My apt lease is up in a few months and I'm deciding between:

  • renewing, can walk to work, 30min (45min in rush hour) from the nearest city with nightlife. If driving, parking is ~$15 each time in that downtown.

  • live near the nightlife, commute the 30-45min to work ~4 days / week.

Rent is approximately the same.

A 3rd option would be to live somewhere in between, which probably isn't worth the commute vs being able to walk to work.

Curious how you guys picked, as this might be a common situation? If I do get into nightlife more, it'd probably be 2 nights/week max, so was thinking about commuting to downtown 2/week vs 4/week to work if living downtown.
