I'm not saying "never date or support single mothers", I'm saying they're a bad investment. Unless the other man died tragically by some accident, she has already proven that she either has poor judgement in men, is so awful that a man would leave her even at the cost of losing his children, or that she made the mistake of getting knocked up by someone she didn't want to be with (or tried and failed to baby trap someone). In all cases, you will now have to deal with her, the kid(s) that aren't yours and who likely know they aren't yours, and quite likely the baby's father who will react to anything you do with her or the kid(s).

My mother literally needs me and my dad because she is not mature enough to take care of her t1 diabetes. And she physically, verbally and psychologically abuses me and my dad.

Authorities think it's funny at worst and at best I can't even abandon them because they're dependent on me.

In between the fights and screaming marches, she's accused me of beating her. Despite 'nobody believing her, I can't find a job in town.

I think with the internet, the younger generation is waking up to the disasters that are single moms. Many boomers stepped up to be step dads back in the day because they were brainwashed by the concept of chivalry to the point where they didn't know any better. These were usually leftover men who couldn't do any better so when a moderately attractive single mom gives them a smidge of attention, they open their wallets willingly.

I think in the future this is going to be a major problem as divorce rates are higher and I do believe men in general are less willing to step up to the plate. So there's going to be an entire demographic of people who are going to need bailouts from the government.

Women will routinely do this but more secretively. When they are ready for children they will just sleep with a bunch of guys and one of them will get her pregnant but she doesn’t know which one so she picks the most responsible that she hooked up with.
