W2: Going out solo & sober tonight

good luck i’ll be following along.

it’s crazy how much easier it is to go with friend and side quest and talk to girls by myself, but it’s so hard to show up by myself. i think it’s just hard to get into that talkative space

I'm going out sober and alone tonight figured (and have for the last several nights), and yeah for me this is 100% sober xd I'll just write a bit about whats going on with me to get it off my chest:

Just to give a brief lifestory, up until I was like 19 was on track to be incel. Found Pickup and became relatively confident with women. Had some activity and saw some success. I never pushed cold approach very hard though more like happenstance or lukewarm appraoches through just a lot of travelling alone going out alone etc.

Anyway, until I was 25 I was like on again off again proactively social, but between 25 and now (35) basically put social things on hold for career and other self improvement things.

Thats been great have built a career I'm proud of and become a much more interesting and well rounded person I am proud of.

But I always intended to sort of flip the switch back again and focus more on social aspects, and I guess that time is now. The main reason I am doing this isn't even really to get girls its more just to push my social comfort zones so I can get more competent socially generally.

So started going out Solo and sober and so far its been "okay" but I am having a hard time pushing myself to appraoch anyone, just kind of waffle around and have a few happestance approaches or interactions, sometimes do a gimme-open. But I'm not approaching hard.

I remember back when I initially started doing anything like this i had HUGE approach anxiety but managed to push through it sometime. Now I feel like approaching doesn't really make me anxious in the same way. Not to say I don't get anxious at all but I generally don't feel like a big bundle of nerves I need to push through and I Have a pretty high confidence and strong sense of self.

It feels more like I have approach apathy. Like when I was younger I was VERY nervous about approaching, but also VERY motivated to meet girls or whatever so I'd push through. Now I am just a little bit nervous but I also don't feel that motivated to push through. Like hooking up with a girl is hardly motivating at all. And the want to improve my social skills is important tto me but is less salient when facing resistance to doing something.

But yeah at the end of the day I know this is something I want to do and I know what its going to take for me to get there and I'll get over myself eventually, just started this journey in earnest this week so having gone out alone a lot is already something at least. I think when I get over this initial hump of not pushing myself to approach many other things will fall into place. And I know that some point soon I'll need to be a bit more drastic with making myself approach more proactively.

Been bar hopping solo too. It sucks when one drink is 15$ and you'd rather scout new places than chill & drink w someone you know

Good to hear your stories. I'm not on the prowl but generally meeting people in a new area is hard when 80% are couples & families. It's good to have an opener to break the ice. Basically need to make social experiments to get people talking

Nice, I've been wanting to go out solo again. (I have some "friends" but one just goes weird dancing and the other always attempt to cockblock me)

I have some stories from when I went out solo, a few of them I got some girls on the hook playing chess.
