Intro
Once you finish self-improvement and have options for life partners, you'll have to spend time choosing one woman. I worked in industries full of high-earning women who committed to men who make less money, and wanted to share some interesting observations about their relationships and family life which may be helpful to those of you who are about to settle down. These trends are most true for young Westernized couples aged 25-40.
First, a Short Video
Here's a YouTube Short that I want you to keep in your head before reading on: https://youtube.com/shorts/dm6KBPJCa1o?si=9GDEIBNmQLYqgjgO
Note how meek and submissive the husband of the high-earning woman is.
Now for my observations:
Notes on Couples with Financially-Dominant Women
- The men in these relationships appear outwardly calm and relaxed, exuding stoic energy without displaying any insecurity. These men are some of the most easygoing guys you'll come across, and their women appreciate it.
- However, these behaviors don't mean the men aren't dead on the inside. Their male vitality, in a physical and philosophical sense, is demonstrably reduced. These men never show signs and behaviors typical of high testosterone, and it's also rare for them to be physically fit. These guys are seldom the life of the party at any social gathering, and their personalities are never magnetic.
- In fact, the woman is often the life of the party: I've been to house parties, barbeques, game nights, and restaurant/bar outings hosted by such couples. In every social outing, the man is strangely quiet and reserved, as though he's actively trying to inhibit himself. It's almost as if he knows his role in his relationship and is trying to play that role as best as he can. Instead of loosening up and enjoying himself and the company of the people around him, he mentally allots nearly 100% of his own happiness to depend on the happiness of his girl.
- The reason for their reduced male vitality is that all of their emotional energy is dedicated to their girl. These men have already accepted that they'll be lifelong indentured servants to the needs of their girl and the instability that inevitably comes with any woman in a high-power career. No doubt their "Game" is rock-solid. It leaves them with little to no energy left to quench their natural male desires.
- For young Western couples where the girl has a robust dating history, it's clear that for their women, these men are merely commodities who exist to provide good dick and emotional security.
- These couples either stay DINKWAD for life or have fewer kids than couples with financially-dominant fathers. Yes, there are exceptions, but this is generally the trend.
- These relationships have more frequent arguments and emotional mini-breaks from the girl's end, but the unique way these disputes get resolved is interesting: The man does not double down or even try to take a firm stance in a conflict -- He actually ends up partly agreeing with the girl and saying whatever he knows she wants to hear. Then they fuck it out like many couples do.
- The above point is worth elaborating: From what I hear, the sex is the glue that keeps the relationship intact. I can't tell you how many times I hear such women yell at their husbands over the phone and the husband meekly submits to her, then he uses his typical RedPill-aikido game and seduces her to bed within the next 48 hours.
- This mentality isn't just limited to the relationship--These men are also conflict-averse in the workplace and throughout their career ladders. They typically don't ask for a pay raise, seldom switch jobs, and seldom confront co-workers about conflicts that arise. They also avoid vocalizing any opinions that they think will be perceived as controversial by anyone, even if they believe it and even if it won't damage their career in any way. On the flipside, they are much more likely to gossip about co-workers and bring others down to elevate themselves (i.e. behaving effeminate). The worst part is that they're less capable of handling a stressful workload than their male peers who married less ambitious women.
- Speaking of careers: If you're an entrepreneur or leader of a business, you're better off hiring men with lower-earning wives than hiring men with high-earning wives, because the former is more likely to produce a high labor output for you.
- Controversial take: I hypothesize that the children of these couples may be slightly more likely to grow up with confidence issues and lack inner security. I have no research data to back up this claim nor can I theorize why it'd make sense, but it's my gut instinct.
What the Research Says
Men whose wives make more money are ~50% more likely to use drugs for erectile dysfunction (https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/0146167212475321).
Thought this one was a cool read. If anyone knows of other studies, please feel free to comment.
Discussion
Just some observations and theories. Not making any suggestions for your life decisions -- It's up to you to do what you want with this information. Also not trying to trigger anyone as we know there are tons of happy confident guys in this sub who were raised by such couples or even single moms. But you should know that things are much different today compared to decades ago when we were kids.
One related question that arises is whether socioeconomic class plays as big a role today as it did years ago. In the past, people who were raised in a certain socioeconomic class tended to be more attracted to partners who were raised in the same socioeconomic class. I'm not sure how much this trend will persist in postmodern America.
