It happened to me as well, and I was born in in Poland. One of my earliest and most traumatic memories was when, following a doctor’s advice, my parents forcibly held me down and performed the retraction twice a week for about a year. Eventually, they couldn’t bear my cries and pleas anymore and stopped.

The pain was unbearable, and for years, I was terrified of touching my private areas myself. Looking back, I’ve learned that this practice is now widely condemned, as it’s well known to cause issues like phimosis and loss of sensation—both of which I’ve experienced. Ironically, the procedure that was meant to prevent phimosis ended up causing it.

I don’t blame my parents, though. I was their first son, and they acted in good faith, trusting the medical advice they received. However, I do hold the doctors responsible for spreading unfounded opinions as medical facts.

I don't even know if they tried to retract it, apparently they just said it was too tight and chopped it right off.

It was done by a doctor in an army recruitment office, in front of other medical workers (there were young women among them)

And we, the 16y.o. boys, were supposed to stand in front of them naked. There were like 20 of us.

Yeah. Happened to me. I remember the pain being terribly unbearable and my mother had to convince my father and the doctor to stop. I remember I didn't touch my privates until puberty, but also the fears that "by not doing" I might have developed phimosis or "never grow". Eventually I grew up and discovered that length depends on genetics...

My parents started supervising me retracting my foreskin + cleaning underneath from when I was about 5 years old. Of course I hated it… because it was incredibly sensitive. They stopped after about 6 months or so as it’d become a habit and I’d “toughened up.” As a result, I’ve got a highly motile foreskin, an ideal level of sensitivity, and no ongoing sexual/hygiene issues… unlike numerous other uncut lads I know.

You should be able to retract your foreskin. If you can’t/if it’s painful, there’s an issue.

How do you keep yourself clean? I’m confused.

idk. could have been a toddler and done it myself. It developed as it was suppose to.
