What "The Shift" is is essentially, due to you having less self confidence in yourself (could be sparked off by a loss in active abundance), you start to display unattractive traits such as needy-ness, seeking reassurance, asking judgmental questions, and Etc. Some of your first mistakes will usually be outside of your awareness. If you make too many mistakes, you've already rolled that snowball way too far down the hill and should most likely look to either readjust or abort out of your situation unless you can cope with where the chess board is. Once you lose some pieces, it's extremely difficult to get one of your remaining pawns back to the other side to become a new queen (to give you a better position on the chess board). The less you self-sabotage the happier both you and whoever you date will be.

Life can be quite unforgiving if you display behaviors that can only do you harm which is easy to do if you just travel day to day coasting on your vices. One of the wisest things to point out is, figure out which behaviors are the best to keep that you do, and do your best everyday, to eliminate as much as you can, behaviors that serve no real purpose in your life except to self-sabotage it.

The problem with the chase is that no one should ever chase.

You or her may look like one chasing the other because it looks like that on surface level, but on a deeper level an ideal or a healthy relationship should be: aligning. The idea of approaching and dating is to align. To get to know her/him better. Until you are exclusive then you both walk together, side by side. This is what people call compatibility.

Yes, it can’t be precisely aligning. That’s where the dynamics come from; in the process of give and take (in a relationship), there will be commotions and conflicts. They give the relationship more flavor and spicy. Otherwise it would just be bland and boring.

On the other hand, an unhealthy relationship will look like one orbiting the other. One keeps giving, the other one keeps taking. One keeps chasing, the other keeps running. To the point where one will get tired, drained, and eventually tap out.
