A long time ago, I had two experiences which show how some women think men are always to blame under any circumstances. They involve movies and my mother.

  1. We watched the movie Varsity Blues. There was a scene where a girl tried to seduce a high school quarterback by appearing in front of him naked except for whipped cream she was wearing as a bikini. He had a girlfriend already, and turned the whipped cream girl down. My mother said he would get in trouble with his gf if she knew about it. I said "What? He turned her down. If anything she sexually harassed him by doing that". Believe it or not, my mom did not budge, as if somehow it was his fault she did that. (Not sure I remember correctly, but I think this came up because he denied it happened when he was talking to his gf. She knew about this other's girls' whipped cream antics, and asked him if she did it to him. If so, this would mean the movie agrees with my mother, that what happened was worth hiding from his gf) So, apparently even if nothing bad happens, the male is still to blame? I mean, give the guy a medal for turning her down is my attitude.
  2. In the movie American Beauty Kevin Spacey was lusting after a teenage girl. Yes, not cool for sure. But then he turns her down at the last minute. He then gets killed in the movie. I said that was an inappropriate punishment since he turned the girl down. (The movie implying he had it coming, in my opinion). My mom disagreed. This one is a little more grey than #1, but still, he did not do anything even illegal, much less a death penalty offense.
  3. By the way, I think this attitude explains a lot of the false allegations we talk about in this sub. I mean, if you're always assuming males are guilty...
