It should be an option if it's viable, yes. You should also be able to do it on demand.

Men should not have to raise children who aren't theirs, not without consent.

Paternity matters. I’m sure many women would get upset about being forced to care for babies that aren’t biologically theirs if hospitals mix them up. Likewise, it’s understandable that many men are upset about having to pay for kids produced by cheating wives—nobody wants to be victimized multiple times, and for many years.

A bigger reproductive freedom issue for me is this: no one—man or woman—should be forced to assume unwanted parental responsibilities and pay for those. Both should be able to opt out early on if they choose.

The problem with Roe v Wade was that it only respected “a woman’s right to choose.” Most of its defenders never seemed to care about giving men a choice, or the fact that millions of men were being forced to pay for kids they didn’t want or that weren’t even theirs because of contraception fraud or paternity fraud. It’s unfair, and it’s tough to retain enough male allies for a system that only respects female choices.

As the National Center for Men put it:

“When it comes to unwanted, unborn children, men have responsibilities without rights. A man’s life can be held hostage to an unplanned pregnancy, but his female partner will have complete control over her reproductive life and future. He can’t force motherhood on her but she can certainly force fatherhood on him, even if she has defrauded him about contraception. Only women have the extraordinary freedom to enjoy sexual intimacy free from the fear of forced parenthood. This is an incredible power, taken for granted by most women and denied, by law, to all men.”

Paternity matters for the reasons you stated:

To prevent paternity fraud.
Accurate paternity can be helpful in diagnosing treating and preventing hereditary diseases.

Mandatory DNA testing of adults is probably a violation of existing rights however. I’d need to know more about applicable law to form more of an opinion on that.

Just need to downplay the “helps men out” part and upsell the “helps kids out” part for something like that to ever stand a chance of getting through.
