For the past one and a half months, I’ve went on 5 dates with someone who I’ve observed to be a fairly anxious person. In several of our conversations, it’s been brought up of how she’s scared of confrontation, and our dates seem to be much shorter than many I’ve had in the past. Our dates last about 90-minutes and many I’ve had lasted more than 3, even on first-dates. I speculate she gets socially exhausted very quickly. I used to struggle with anxiety too, so I sympathize. Even her Hinge profile prompt remarked “I like to be alone.” I genuinely do want to get to know her more, but it’s very difficult to do that when I’m accustomed to longer dates. Honestly hard to tell if she’s even into me or just scared of rejecting me. I think I’m having trouble advocating for my own needs and trying to overly accommodate hers, in fears of making her feel uncomfortable. I would usually throw in the towel and move on to the next, and I am still keeping my options open! But I really am curious and hopeful to see what potential this interaction may hold.
