To preface, this isn’t a brag post—I’m simply just trying to offer another point of view when it comes to using dating apps. I mainly use Hinge in a very large city, and lucky enough for me, I’ve been able to get around 30 matches a week ( Mind you, I’m a bit new to the city so I haven’t dried out the dating pool yet). With all of my matches, I instantly plan a date within 3-4 texts. If they seem unsure or give a vague answer that’s not a day or time, I unmatch. But because I clearly state in my profile, that I hate texting and lack of communication, it seems women are a bit more intentional in our conversations and planning the date.

My main point is, I’ve been able to plan 5-6 dates a week and—I definitely lose track of who I’m talking to on Hinge. I reckon for women, who get way more likes than me, it’s a similar experience. It’s way easier for me to get a women’s number, and then put the date and time of our date in her contact information so I’m a bit more organized and actually know who I’m even talking to. There’s been times I even forgot I had a date because they were just drowned in the other matches I had—women definitely experience this problem too. That’s why as men, who have the lower-hand on apps, I think it’s better to secure their number as soon as possible, in order to better secure dates and not get drowned in a sea of matches!
