If you really believe that at least half of the people around you at all times is on the verge of killing or raping you, you are literally clinically paranoid.

Other women need to step up and tell these women that they're ruining their own mental health, if they believe these paranoid delusions, since they obviously won't listen to men.

(I don't think they actually believe it, for the most part though ... maybe some of them. Many of them just believe they can take men down a peg by consistently saying these hateful things.)

These sorts of comments absolutely wrecked my mental health when I was younger. I was always told about how my behavior as a man could easily be perceived as harmful. I "listened to women" and guess what? It nearly completely socially crippled me and drove my anxiety so high that it went to the Heaven and back.

This extreme overpolicing of men's behaviors- that every last thing a man does in the presence of women- is exactly why we had the laughable and memed-about article from the NYT.

And ultimately, my answer (after a lot of psychological help) was to... completely ignore these angry women online. My mental health professionals told me to ignore them. My parents told me if I'm not hurting anybody then I shouldn't stress about these things. My friends told me that women on Reddit were insane and hateful.

I'm not hurting women. I'm not manspreading or hemming in women in social circumstances or kissing them out of the blue or anything. If I want to flirt with a woman or ask her out, I do, unless I know she's married or in a relationship. And magically, in the real world, women started liking me more! I started getting more longing sighs, blushes, and "yes" answers to dates. Women started trusting me more and being more vulnerable around me. Crazy really that overbearing anxiety is contagious and making people second, third, fourth, and fifth guess minor social interactions doesn't foster a positive social environment where we can have conversations on how to harmonize male-female communication, but we instead create a climate of fear.

Who would've guessed that?

Edit: These same women lecturing men about the evils they commit, when I told them how damaging this was for my mental health said pretty foul things to me. They accused me of making the issue about myself and saying how selfish my response was and how unempathetic they were. That drove me further into bad times. I now realize the hypocrisy of this all where I'm supposedly to be infinitely empathetic to women but any pushback or some negative feelings which emerge from their rhetoric and it's suddenly "stop crying you horrible oppressive PoS!". I never wanted to make the issue about myself. I just want myself and for the women I know to be safe.

I rarely feel uncomfortable or bored or annoyed by most people men or women. There is something really depressing to know that by virtue of existence most women just see us as dumb, boring, obnoxious, unfunny, etc. It's genuinely strange to know that women have such a strong dislike of men that isn't reciprocated at all.

What's odder is that men don't feel this way about other men. I never sit around constantly paranoid about a fight breaking out or an uncomfortable confrontation with other men. Men are actually more likely to be violently attacked but we just don't have this same fear.
