I had an appointment with my therapist today, who in the course of our session found it necessary to inform me that my ex wife had tried to get into her therapy group for victims of psychological abuse. Now, my ex is well aware of which therapist I go to, so it seemed like a very queer coincidence to my therapist that my ex wife would choose the therapy group that my specific therapist leads. Unless, as she suggested, it was not a coincidence and that my ex would have ulterior motives, like defaming me to my own therapist.

Now, there is nothing I can do with that information unless the ex decides to lawyer up and go for full custody after ca. 1,5 years with shared custody after the divorce. Then it would become circumstantial evidence that she is acting in bad faith. But how do you defend yourself against that kind of thing? If I tell any of my friends who more or less all know her too, she can just claim that it is another attempt to control her. On the other hand, I need to vent, so now I vent into the void.

I just don't understand how she can target me to such a degree instead of looking inward.
