Ex wife gave me the best gift ever - are all women like this?

She (47f) teached me (47m) that I was alone in life after 20 years of marriage. I thought I could count on her, isn’t that what marriage is about. To be there for each other?

When I was at the worst point of my life, when I needed her for the first time, she was having an affair. I caught her doing it, but despite that, I was open to staying with her for the kids, but she felt that questioning our relationship was a betrayal of her. When I asked her to stop talking to her AP, she said I was controlling and needed to trust her that she would not do something. Instead of trying to ease my pain, she exacerbated it.

Ultimately, she showed me the realization that I was alone. It hurt so much at first but it’s what woke me up.

Now, I am grateful because it’s going to make me stronger. I am going to handle everything on my own. I will be a better father and a better man for it.

The question for the group is if you think most women are like this - meaning you can’t count on them - or was I unlucky and it’s a minority? Or are 99% of women the kind you can’t really count on?
