It doesn’t matter who likes and tells her first because she will be the one to choose who to date regardless of who asked first or second.

So it’s not a first come first basis, it’s who do she like more or even who does she like, who doesnt she like. And maybe she doesn’t even like either of you.

Reality is if you are both mature it won’t matter who dates her, if you two are immature somehow acting like she is theirs because they claimed her first, well the friendship will be ruined.

Ultimately, there are no guarantees and if you don’t go for her to preserve the friendship good for you, but then you won’t date her. And even if you have this loyalty doesn’t mean he won’t do the same thing.

You could just reach an agreement to have a threesome and have a three way relationship lol.

A big problem among men is that we're a lot less united than women.

Look at what happens when someone cheats. If a guy cheats with a girl that didn't know he was in a relationship, there's a chance that the girl might even tell the GF/wife if she finds out.

If a girl cheats with a guy that didn't know she was in a relationship and he finds out, he'll just laugh about the BF/husband being a chump or something.

And when someone gets caught, the wife is much more likely to direct her aggression towards her husband, but in the reverse, the husband is much more likely to direct his aggression towards the other guy.

This is one of the reasons why women have it so much easier than men in dating, because men are weak, we put too much importance on women that we're happy to shit on other guys just for some random chick.

Find more options so no one feels weird if something does happen between her and your friend.

The whole catch 22 is if you talk to him and he gives you the all clear, the girl is going to select the guy who displays LESS interest in her. If you ask her out and he backs off, she will probably chase him for removing his care for the outcome, or worse; get with you first then go behind your back.

It's a no win situation, but those situations disappear when you build a rotation.
