Yeah it's definitely weird to ask for that before you had any intimacy. Just wear protection when you have sex, and if you want to take your relation to the next level you can both get checked (even together). That's it.

I don't think it's worth worrying about. I know a couple people who have it and it's not a big deal. Just use protection and get tested regularly.

To be clear are you asking this question over text before you've even gone on a date? that's what you're making it sound like and that's a really terrible time to ask this question

You should see a mental health professional about being this worried about herpes. Somewhere between 50-66% if all adults worldwide have herpes. For a sizable group of people it stays dormant or they get rare outbreaks. Outbreaks can be last just 4-8 days with antivirals.

This is an unreasonable screening question and will severely limit your dating pool. If you filter out low class women and drug users your chances of getting std's are very low in general, and virtually nil if you additionally use a condom.

Herpes is extremely common so it’s best to assume everyone has it. That and EBV. Do with that information what you will and proceed however you’re most comfortable.

For me, I don’t share any food, straws, or silverware with anyone. Obviously not strangers, but also not my Mom or Dad, my sister, my homies, and not the girls I’m with. NO ONE. My food, drink, and utensils are mine and theirs are theirs.

When it comes to sexual history, remind yourself that you can only control what you can control.

-You can pick a girl who SEEMS less likely to have such histories -You don’t kiss/have sex with a girl you don’t feel comfortable with -You can ask about her sexual health history -Once you get to the point of sex, you’re already in too deep (hehe) and accept anything that happens after.

You can choose to not approach girls who would be most likely to have such histories. E.g. rave girls, party girls, sex workers, athletes, nurses, local influencers, etc. Any girl I have even an inkling of being promiscuous I will avoid. Now obviously not every girl that falls into these is promiscuous, and even quiet homebody types can be just as (if not more) promiscuous, but if you’re worried about STDs its best to stay away from the people who have the most sexual activity. You can get robbed in both Gotham and Irvine but where do you think you have a higher chance of being bit? Exactly.

If I’m with a girl and for whatever reason I have a gut feeling I shouldn’t kiss her, I won’t. There’s not much to explain here. If the spark isn’t there don’t do it. If you don’t really like her don’t do it. If your primal instinct is telling you not to do it, listen to it. That’s pattern recognition keeping you safe. Have some agency and don’t throw your lips, hips, and dick out to just any one.

If you both feel comfortable with each other and are at a point you can ask questions a deeper than the FORDs, just ask her. She might be offended, or not. Maybe she’ll be honest with you, maybe she won’t. Maybe she’ll be squeaky clean, maybe she’ll have crabby blue waffles. Maybe she’ll offer to get a check up and share her results, maybe she won’t. Ask her, see what happens, and proceed how you feel most comfortable.

Obviously not everything because she could have lead you along a string of lies and in that case lawyer up, but be for real, if you’re going to Poundtown, sharing lips and sharing spit, sweating and breathing over each other, licking tummy, licking titties, playing with holes, there’s a chance you catch any cocktail of EboCoviGonoHerp-Flu-19. Sex is the ultimate act of physical intimacy for this very reason, so if you did all the vetting before hand, you should be good to go.

TLDR. Have boundaries. Be careful with party chicks. Ask questions and use your best judgement. Don’t kiss a girl if you don’t want to, and it’s okay to change your mind. If you’re at the point of sex, accept whatever comes your way brochacho.

lol I assume I have herpes just because 70% of people have it (hsv 1) . I assume I’m one of the many that doesn’t have outbreaks and it’s hidden. I think that’s the only repercussion is occasional blisters and that’s treatable. I wouldn’t ask but it’s also not a bad question… however I’m sure it doesn’t go over well. Do what you want though that’s my opinion on hsv.
